What is Orchestra?

Orchestra is a collection of different string instruments. It consists of the four instruments, the violin, viola, cell, and bass. Students learn to play together in an ensemble class, to play collectively and individually, in order to play as a full group.

ORCHESTRA TEACHER/ADMINISTRATOR

Mr. Frank

Mr. Frank has been teaching at Herbert Hoover for just over 25 years. 2018 is his 26th year here. He currently teaches beginning, intermediate, advanced and concert orchestra. Before Hoover, Mr. Frank taught orchestra and band at Roosevelt middle school, and taught band and English at Sacred Heart High school. He started playing drums when he was in fifth grade, and was strongly influenced by the band, The Beatles. His most challenging experience in college was a music history class. He has a music degree in percussion and education, and a teaching credential in music.
